Miami Heat finally take down the Pistons, 100-98
Wade scored 18 of his game-high 37 points in the fourth quarter and helped the Heat eliminate a Pistons 13-point lead. Shaquille O'Neal added a season-high 31 points, eight boards and three blocks.
The Heat (31-20) got some very steady play from veteran point-guard Gary Payton (13 points). This marks the first time in ten tries that the Heat defeated one of the NBA elite teams.
Wade, who started slow in the first half by hitting just three of 11 from the field for nine points, went on a second half tear that make legends. Wade nailed 12 of 16 second half shots and was the coffin closer for the Pistons (41-9).
The Pistons are 4-4 in the past eight games, sparking up questions about just how good they really are. The next game for the Heat is at the American Airlines Arena, Tuesday night, against the Orlando Magic.
